Please read carefully, especially Section 4 (Medical Disclaimer) and Section 5 (Emergencies). HeartPilot is a self-management support tool. It is not a substitute for professional medical care, and must never be relied upon in an emergency.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HeartPilot mobile application ("HeartPilot," "the app," "we," "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using HeartPilot, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
HeartPilot is a self-management support application designed to help people living with heart failure track daily symptoms and vital signs, manage medications, access educational content, and optionally share status information with a family member or other caregiver. HeartPilot uses rule-based logic, informed by published clinical guidelines, to surface self-care guidance based on the information you enter. HeartPilot does not perform diagnosis, does not practice medicine, and is not operated by a healthcare provider on your behalf.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.
HeartPilot is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Do not use HeartPilot for emergencies. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, or if you are in crisis or feel unsafe, call your local emergency number immediately. In the United Arab Emirates: call 998 for ambulance or 999 for police. For mental health crisis support in Abu Dhabi, you may also contact SAKINA at 800 725 462, available 24 hours.
HeartPilot's alerts and notifications, including those sent to a caregiver, are not monitored in real time by medical professionals and are not a substitute for calling emergency services. Do not wait for a response within the app before seeking emergency help.
HeartPilot allows a user ("Patient") to invite another person ("Caregiver") to receive limited information about the Patient's status, based on permissions the Patient controls and may revoke at any time. By using this feature:
You agree not to:
The HeartPilot app, including its design, text, graphics, and underlying software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Educational content within the app is adapted from publicly available clinical guideline sources and is provided for informational purposes; you may not reproduce or redistribute it for commercial purposes without permission. You retain ownership of the health information you enter into the app.
HeartPilot is currently provided free of charge during its pilot phase. We reserve the right to introduce fees for the app or certain features in the future, with advance notice provided to users before any charges apply.
You may stop using HeartPilot and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you violate these Terms, or if we discontinue the service, with reasonable notice where practicable.
HeartPilot is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, or that any alert, reminder, or notification will be delivered without delay or failure.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HeartPilot and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of health, life, data, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app — including any reliance on information, alerts, or the absence of alerts within the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by proven gross negligence.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HeartPilot and its developers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the app.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of HeartPilot shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the United Arab Emirates, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the app or by other reasonable means before the change takes effect. Continued use of HeartPilot after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
